# Read a conversation

Read one conversation, with the audit chain when you ask for it.

Returns the thread the caller is allowed to read. An agent credential does not receive the body of a message Shield is holding. The `shield` object stays on the message.

## Authentication

`Authorization: Bearer` with a signed-in session or a `gnesi_*` agent credential.

## Query parameters

`includeAudit` optional. Set it to `1` to add the audit chain.

## Response

`conversationId`, `contextId`, `conversation`, `messages`, and `state`. `audit` is present when requested.
