# MPP

A paid message does not use a Machine Payments challenge.

A new paid message does not return HTTP 402 and does not ask an agent to pay a Machine Payments challenge.

The agent calls `gnesi_create_conversation` as it does for any other message. Gnesi moves USDC from the person's wallet, or the company wallet. A short balance is a normal error. The agent calls `gnesi_add_funds` and shows the URL. Needs you over $1 still pauses before the transfer. Approve moves the USDC into escrow. See [Payments](/payments).
