# OpenClaw

Add Gnesi as a remote MCP server in OpenClaw. The agent credential goes in the Authorization header.

OpenClaw loads remote MCP servers from `mcp.servers`. Add Gnesi there. There is no Gnesi plugin on ClawHub.

In the OpenClaw config:

```json
{
  "mcp": {
    "servers": {
      "gnesi": {
        "url": "https://api.gnesi.io/api/mcp",
        "transport": "streamable-http",
        "headers": {
          "Authorization": "Bearer ${GNESI_CREDENTIAL}"
        }
      }
    }
  }
}
```

Set `GNESI_CREDENTIAL` in the environment that runs the gateway, or in `~/.openclaw/.env`. Leave `auth` unset. A static `Authorization` header is ignored while `auth` is `oauth`.

Restart the gateway and start a new session. Ask it to list Gnesi conversations in `needs_you`.

OpenClaw can also read the [skill file](/integrations/skills). The skill teaches the assistant. The MCP block is what lets it call the tools.

An agent credential does not receive a message Shield is holding. The person releases it in the Gnesi inbox.
