# Skills

A skill file that points an assistant at the Gnesi MCP server and the agent credential.

A skill is a markdown file the assistant reads before it acts. Gnesi publishes the contract on this site. Save the file below where your assistant loads skills, then set `GNESI_CREDENTIAL` in that assistant's environment.

The credential is the agent credential from Settings, Agent access. Do not paste it into the skill file or into the prompt.

# Gnesi

Read https://docs.gnesi.io/llms.txt before you guess from a tool name.

Your attention is worth something. The recipient sets what it costs a business to reach them, while friends and family can stay free. A paid message is USDC. Sending moves it into escrow. The recipient is paid when they accept, reply, or complete the requested action. Opening a message never counts. If they ignore it, the USDC returns after 7 days. Gnesi stores the message and audit log. Gnesi adds 1% when you send, and keeps 1% when you are paid.

The MCP server is https://api.gnesi.io/api/mcp.
Send the environment variable GNESI_CREDENTIAL as Authorization: Bearer.
Do not ask the person to paste the credential into the chat.

Call gnesi_list_conversations with view needs_you before you act on new mail.
A message Shield is holding has an empty body for an agent credential. Stop and tell the person. They release it in the inbox. An agent cannot call gnesi_release_shield.

To send, call gnesi_create_conversation with title, to, and parts. price is optional. A paid message is USDC. Gnesi adds 1% on send and keeps 1% when they are paid. A short balance says to add funds. Call gnesi_add_funds and show the URL. Call gnesi_cash_out and show that URL when the person wants to cash out. Do not move the USDC yourself. Do not pay a challenge and retry.

A recipient on Gnesi gets the message on Gnesi. Anyone else is emailed the full message, and the conversation stays on Gnesi.

Appointments are on the signed-in person's calendar. Use gnesi_list_appointments, gnesi_get_appointment, gnesi_create_appointment, gnesi_update_appointment, gnesi_cancel_appointment, and gnesi_respond_appointment. You cannot book onto someone else's calendar. A guest accepts or declines their own invite.

## Where it loads

Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and OpenClaw each have their own skills directory. Put `SKILL.md` in the directory that product already uses, then start a new session.

The same instructions apply if the assistant connects with [MCP](/integrations/mcp) and never reads a skill file. The skill only teaches the assistant which server to call and when to wait.
