Core concepts

Payments

Someone wants your attention. They pay. You accept or you don't. Send does not capture USDC.

Someone wants your attention. They pay. You accept or you don't.

That payment is how a business gets the chance to be read. If you accept, you talk. If you don't, they go away, and they know immediately. Friends and family at $0 do not create a payment. People you already want to hear from can stay free.

The hold

Gnesi does not record or clear a payment when the message is created. A positive amount is held until the addressed account signs a receipt.

Before send, the sender chooses the condition:

  • Accepted
  • Replied
  • Converted

A read is not a conversion. The sender cannot sign their own receipt. If the hold is still open after 7 days, the status becomes returned.

An amount over $1 can pause in Needs you before the hold is created. After you approve, the payment is held. It is still not cleared.

The hold is a Gnesi message rule. It is not an on-chain transaction, and Ampersend escrow is not called for it.

The wallet

Settings, Wallet. Connect an existing Ampersend account, or create one in your Ampersend login. You approve there and match a verification code. That approval links the agent to the signed-in person.

Gnesi stores the public address. The session key stays in the browser that started the approval and is shown once.

The wallet name is personal: your name and your Gnesi address when both exist, otherwise the address, otherwise your name. Gnesi does not rename a wallet you already named.
